This section covers research that was completed on the location of the Hugh Blevins Home. As of January 2024, several individuals were interviewed who remember seeing the building before it was torn down in the mid-1950s.

The front of the building had 4 windows at top.
According to the Library of Congress photos, the front of the building faced north.

The back of the building did not have windows at top.
According to the Library of Congress photos, this was a photo taken from the southwest and is the back of the building.

This map from Library of Congress shows the Hugh Blevins Family Home. North is pointing downward to the left a bit so this has to be rotated clockwise in order to better understand how it correlatest to a standard map.

Photos of Old Blevins Tavern. It is not know for certain that the tree in the back left is actually the "Big Oak on Blevins School property" as is written on the photo.
