PLACES & EVENTS: PEDDLING TRUCKS
According to Mrs. Bonita Stone's research materials, there were four "peddling" trucks owned by M.L. Nelson in Blevins.
"This is the (one of) "Peddling truck" driven by my dad in the 1940's and 1950's. His name was Byron Stone. He drove this truck over a 3 county area (Hempstead, Pike, and Nevada) for about 15 years (or more).
They sold feed as well as groceries. They also bought chickens and eggs as they travelled the contryside. Much of their business was sold on credit - some paid by the month and some by the year"

Maunt H. Montgomery drove a peddling truck for many years for M.L. Nelson before Mr. Montgomery built his Country Store in the early 1940's about 5 miles out of Blevins toward Prescott in the Sweet Home Community.
